„Casey?“ Surprised Zeke looked up from his book when the boy entered his garage. „What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at the TV Station for this interview?“

Casey huffed and dropped down onto the old couch. „I've decided not to go. Probably they will demand compensation, but I don't care. I'm so sick of this hero shit.“

"Hm." Zeke put the book down and smirked. „I guess, Del wasn't amused,“ he said.

„I didn't ask her. She will have to accept it. It's about time to move on with normal life. Graduation next year, then hopefully art school. A photographer, that's all I want to be, not Superman, who saves the world again and again. I still have nightmares when I think about Marybeth, I'm so not a hero.“

Zeke smiled slightly. „You know, Superman and co are highly overrated. I prefer the accidental heroes, like Samwise Gamgee from Lord of The Rings. He was afraid to leave the Shire, but he did it anyway; not for glory and wealth, but because of love. Frodo was the ringbearer but without Sam, he wouldn't have made his way up to the end.

So, yeah, for me you are a hero. Like Sam. Because without you the world would have been lost."

I'm impressed Zeke knows his Tolkien and..., I dunno, it sounds to me like he might be a little bit of a shipper too! Accidental heroes are the best!
